The former personal attorney for Donald Trump has resigned as the chief federal prosecutor in the state. This follows a court battle that invalidated her legal standing to serve.

The head of the Justice Department, Pam Bondi, accepted her stepping down on Monday. In a statement that the judicial decision made it impossible for her to effectively run her office.
"Let no one confuse compliance for surrender," she declared. "This battle will now stretch across the nation."
