PSG Edges Marseille via Spot-Kicks to Secure Trophee des Champions Super Cup in Kuwait.

PSG players celebrating

The Parisian club has now won the season-opening trophy on 14 separate occasions.

Paris Saint-Germain needed a stoppage-time equaliser followed by a successful spot-kick decider to overcome their arch-rivals in Kuwait and capture a fourth straight French Super Cup title.

The European champions appeared to be coasting towards a comfortable win in the showdown between the French league winners and the Coupe de France holders after Ousmane Dembele opened the net early on.

However, the southern French side struck twice in the closing moments to take a shock lead. Initially, the English forward converted from the spot-kick, before Willian Pacho inadvertently turned the ball into his own net for an own goal.

In a remarkable turn of fortune, the Portuguese striker snatched a vital equaliser in the final moments to send the contest into a deciding shootout. PSG goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier then emerged as the hero, saving crucial attempts from O'Riley and Traore.

From the spot, Ramos, Vitinha, Nuno Mendes, and the young talent all converted with composure for PSG to complete a convincing shootout win.

Now 14-time winners Paris Saint-Germain, who met last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Olympique de Marseille after completing a domestic double, have now lifted this trophy for the 12th time in the last thirteen seasons.
