The Popular Show Campaign 4 Reveals the Warriors Table
From the very beginning of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a diverse cast of personalities, and a gripping narrative including angels, fiends, and malevolent powers growing in strength within the city.
Heads-up: Spoilers for the latest installment of the new season follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The latest chapter concluded with a dramatic pause and revealed the first table of characters who will separate from the main group to undertake their separate journey, distinct from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table features the determined fighter (played by Travis), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
Considering an extensive roster, it was obvious from the start that having everyone at the same party would be impossible.
This explains, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three separate parties: Soldiers, Strategists, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
As described by the DM, the warrior group is for players who prefer a classically intense combat and conflict-driven narrative style where non-violent answers are few and far between.
At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might look out of place, but the actions of episode 3 demonstrate why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the group understands precisely where to go next after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose passing initiated the campaign’s events—exploited the foes for his selfish purposes, invading Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the rogue, and taking all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The traitor then cleared his debts and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, above the city, with Cyd pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each character has a specific drive to exit Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and trusted friend, seeks vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure knows the northern area and advises that it is a nasty environment.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having disobeyed his house’s orders to execute Teor and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- Yet, their status as important members in House Halovar could enable the party access places they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The fighter pledged a life debt to Wicander for his rescue and will now go with him everywhere.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are sought by the powers that control the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The healer defied the influential house and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the family.
This leaves them no alternative but to journey toward Timmony in pursuit of the traitor.
Future Episodes
From episode three’s follow-up content, we learn that the Soldiers table won’t be around next week, leaving the other eight players to assemble the Questers and Planners groups.
Fans can anticipate discovering which adventurers will be in which group in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, released on the upcoming Thursday.
